5 steps to score your first client as a traveller with no experience in digital work
When the pandemic hit, I was in Bali and deep in my overdraft. I had been used to working odd labour jobs and had never worked online.
Within one month I went from having no prospects to 2 online clients which covered my expenses and got me out of debt.
Here is what I did:
1. I chose a niche to work in (for me it was Instagram marketing to start with).
2. I studied experts in the field using Youtube until I knew more than the average person.
3. I made my own Instagram account and experimented.
4. I made a profile on Upwork.com and included my growth analytics from my personal Instagram.
5. I applied for 10-20 jobs in my specific niche, put in a low price and followed up regularly.
I still have my first client today and we have now grown to a team of 7 (I was the first). I'm now the creative director.
Just because it is 5 steps, it doesn't make it easy. Dedication, focus, and drive will get you there.
